Iradion Laser Holding GmbH

Iradion is the global market leader in ceramic CO₂ laser sources and stands for exceptional laser technology. With its patented CERAMICORE® lasers and the innovative NANOCORE™ and FEMTOCORE™ series, Iradion is setting new standards in precision and performance – for applications in industry, medicine, and research.

Iradion Laser, Inc. was founded in 2007 after it acquired and patented the intellectual property of a laser galvo coding system using a new 10-watt CERAMICORE laser design for the food and drug industry.

The origin of the CERAMICORE® technology goes back to the fact that a leading American technology corporation received a contract from the U.S. Department of Defense to develop a CO2 laser that would enable a 10-year shelf lifetime and be extremely robust. This was achieved by utilizing an aluminum oxide ceramic chamber to hermetically seal the CO2 laser gas mixture thus guaranteeing performance and longevity.

Intensive R&D programs resulted in a wide product range with laser models from 25 W to 250 W, which is continuously expanded towards higher powers.

Since 2023, Iradion and InnoLas Photonics form the 3rd division of the TroGroup under the "Iradion" brand name. “InnoLas Photonics GmbH” is a renowned manufacturer of high-quality nanosecond and ultrashort pulse laser sources for high-end industrial applications.

History timeline and R&D

1998 – 1999
Luxinar, under the name Rofin-Sinar UK Ltd, was established in 1998 in Willerby, Kingston upon Hull, UK, as part of the worldwide Rofin-Sinar group. We shipped the first CO2 laser sources that year, followed by the first MULTISCAN® dot matrix laser marker in 1999.

2000-2006
We released more new products over the next few years, including 300W and 600W laser sources and the MULTISCAN® vector marker; our annual turnover exceeded £10M in 2006.

2007
In 2007 we received the Queen’s Award for Enterprise: Innovation, following the release of our first 600W laser.

2011 – 2014
We followed up with the Queen’s Award for Enterprise: Export Growth in 2011. Turnover exceeded £20M per annum in 2012, and we shipped our 10000th unit in 2014. In 2014, the SR series and OEM series replaced the older product ranges.

2016
The SCX 35 was launched in 2016, bringing our entire product range up to date. In 2016, following rapid growth, we moved to a purpose-built, state-of-the-art facility with 7500m2 (81000ft2) of manufacturing space in Hessle, Kingston upon Hull, UK.

2017 – 2019
We shipped our 15000th unit and exceeded £30M annual turnover in 2017. CMR acquired us shortly afterwards, because of our divestment from the group formed by Coherent’s acquisition of Rofin. This prompted the rebranding of our company, and in June 2019, we became Luxinar.

2020-2022
New product launches dominated with additions to our SR range – 80W SR 08s and 160W SR 15s –, the SR AOM series for thin film applications, the 1kW OEM 100iX, and the LXR® series – Luxinar’s first femtosecond laser source.

2023-2024
In 2023, we celebrated our 25th anniversary and the launches of the SR e series and x series, and in 2024, we introduced the modular MULTISCAN® HE range. In July 2024, TroGroup acquired Luxinar, marking a new chapter of expanded sales and support on three continents.
